Should Google maps remove speed trap alerts?
22 January - 4 minsRoad safety campaigners have urged Google to remove satnav alerts for random garda speed traps and checkpoints to ensure reckless drivers are detected. We spoke to Oliver Moran, Green Party Councillor for Cork City North-East.
A google spokesperson has sent us this following statement.
“Safety is a top priority for Google and our features comply with local laws. By informing drivers about police presence and speed, we aim to help them make safer decisions on the road.” - Google spokesperson
